How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Core-SVD recompression with rank and error tolerances
Definition
Input: A field , positive integers , a finite factor list and representing , a rank cap , and a Frobenius tolerance . The conjugate transpose and Frobenius norm are those of Finite tensor arrays and the Frobenius inner product.
Procedure: Concatenate the factors as and , so . Take compact singular value decompositions and , where the columns of are orthonormal and span the respective column spaces. Form the core and compute an SVD . Let its positive singular values be . Find the smallest for which . If no such exists, return tolerance-not-met. Otherwise return success with factors and , where , and the exact discarded-tail certificate ; when , use empty and factors.
The compact decompositions retain only positive singular directions. If the factor list is empty or its represented matrix is zero, then and the procedure returns the rank-zero representation because . Any SVD choices in repeated singular subspaces are permitted. No result is returned when the requested cap cannot certify the tolerance.

Dependency tree · two levels
7 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
