How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite tensor arrays and the Frobenius inner product
Definition
Fix a field , an integer , and positive integers . A finite order- tensor of shape is an array indexed by . Its Frobenius inner product and norm are For a matrix, rank means the dimension of its column image and the Frobenius inner product is the same entrywise formula. The adjoint is conjugate transpose (transpose over ).
For , the mode- unfolding has rows and columns. Its row index is and its column index is the remaining tuple in increasing mode order, lexicographically ordered. Its entry at that row and column is the corresponding entry of . For , the cut- unfolding has row tuple and column tuple , each lexicographically ordered. These conventions fix all reshapes used below.
