How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

QMA parallel repetition with a midpoint threshold

Definition

Inputs: A length-n verifier from Uniform verifier interface with a quantum witness, its classical basis input ∣x⟩ with ∣x∣=n, an r-block witness register, rational thresholds 0≤s<c≤1, and an integer r≥1. Each verifier has input register Xn, witness register Wn, zero-initialized workspace An, terminally measured tuple On, and total predicate Acc⁡n(x,z). The admissible parameters are those of the verifier's promise-class contract, with r polynomially bounded when polynomial resources are claimed.

Procedure: Partition the witness into r blocks W(1),…,W(r). Use the given input register as X(1), allocate r−1 fresh zero-initialized n-bit registers X(2),…,X(r), and for every bit position i and j=2,…,r, apply a CNOT from Xi(1) to Xi(j). Since x is a computational-basis string, this copies ∣x⟩ exactly and leaves every input register in ∣x⟩. Give each verifier copy its own fresh zero-initialized workspace and distinct output wires, then run its finite circuit on (X(j),W(j),A(j)). At termination measure each copy's tuple O(j) and evaluate Acc⁡n(x,zj) on that outcome. Let S be the number of copies whose predicate accepts. Output 1 exactly when

S≥⌈r(c+s)2⌉.

The rational midpoint and integer threshold are computed exactly from the binary encodings of c,s,r. The input-copy registers, verifier ancillas and output registers are separate across copies; no copy uses a shared quantum input register after the CNOT fanout. The acceptance predicate is evaluated separately on each copy's terminal outcome. Completeness and soundness for arbitrary joint witnesses, including witnesses entangled across the r blocks, are established in the separate entangled-witness amplification theorem.

21 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
