How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Tapered block bootstrap
Definition
Input: observations in a real Hilbert space , an integer , and a window that vanishes off , is positive on a neighbourhood of , satisfies , and is nondecreasing on . Put for , , and . The procedure is admissible only when .
Center and taper: set and . For each start , form the block
Resample: use the independent uniform block starts from Overlapping block-index resampling, multiply each selected centered observation by its within-block taper and the factor , concatenate in draw order, and retain the first entries. The conditional bootstrap mean is centered by its own conditional expectation when used to approximate the sampling law of .
The factor compensates for the window's squared-weight sum in the block-sum variance calculation; this definition alone gives no bootstrap validity result.
For a dependent time series, the selected length- consecutive run is the resampling unit under Sampling units and the resampling-unit contract. The taper changes each unit record's within-block weight but the whole block is selected and resampled together; validity remains a separate theorem.

3 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
