How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Uncurved cohomological A∞-algebra in the unsuspended convention

Definition

Let k be a field (Field) and let A=⨁j∈ZAj be a Z-graded k-vector space; its tensor maps use the convention in Koszul sign rule for graded tensor products and permutations. An uncurved cohomological A∞-algebra in the unsuspended convention is a sequence of homogeneous k-linear maps

mn:A⊗kn⟶A,∣mn∣=2−n,n≥1,

such that for every n≥1 the following equality of maps A⊗kn→A holds:

∑r,t≥0, s≥1r+s+t=n(−1)r+stmr+1+t(1⊗r⊗ms⊗1⊗t)=0.

Here 1 denotes the identity map of A, the tensor maps use the Koszul rule, and the displayed sign (−1)r+st is part of the fixed convention. The degree condition means that for homogeneous inputs of degrees j1,…,jn, mn has output degree j1+⋯+jn+2−n.

“Uncurved” means no arity-zero operation m0 is included. “Nonunital” means that no unit is part of this definition. A unit or a strict-unit condition on higher operations is additional data and must be stated separately. No graded commutativity is assumed for m2.

Remarks

The arity-two identity is the chain-map condition for m2. Its commutative square is shown below; the downward map on A⊗2 is the tensor differential with the Koszul sign rule. This diagram records the equation only; it is not a proof of any Stasheff identity.

5 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
