How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Finite-field hereditary Hall categories

Definition

A finite-field hereditary Hall category is a supplied small Fq-linear abelian category A with the following properties:

  1. For every pair M,N, Hom⁡A(M,N) is a finite-dimensional Fq-vector space and the Yoneda extension group YExt⁡1(M,N) is finite-dimensional over Fq. Its addition is Baer sum; scalar multiplication by λ∈Fq is pushout along λid⁡N.
  2. For every M,N, YExt⁡2(M,N)=0, where a two-fold extension is an exact sequence 0→N→E1→E0→M→0 modulo endpoint-fixed chain-map equivalence (An n-fold Yoneda extension, Equivalence of n-fold extensions).
  3. Smallness and the finiteness conditions of the Hall definition hold (Small finitary abelian categories for Hall multiplication).

Here Fq-linear means that every Hom set is a vector space and composition is bilinear. “Hereditary” in this page means exactly the stated vanishing of Yoneda Ext⁡2; no projective or injective resolutions, derived-Ext identification, or choice principle is built into the definition. Under these conditions the Euler form used below is ⟨[M],[N]⟩=dim⁡FqHom⁡(M,N)−dim⁡FqYExt⁡1(M,N).

11 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
