How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Modules over a Hall algebra are unital algebra representations
Definition
Let be a commutative ring with unit (Algebras over a commutative ring, central structure maps, and algebra homomorphisms) and let be a unital associative -algebra. An -linear representation of on an -module is a unital -algebra homomorphism , where is the ring of -linear maps , with composition as multiplication, as unit, and scalar map . It defines the unital left action ; its module axioms are those of Unital left and right modules over a ring; unqualified module means left module. When is a Hall algebra, this structure is called a Hall-algebra module.
This term does not mean an object of the input category. An input object contributes a basis symbol to a Hall algebra, but that symbol by itself specifies no representation on an -module. The untwisted Hall algebra instance is supplied by The untwisted Hall algebra of a finitary abelian category, The untwisted Hall product is associative and unital.
The zero -module is allowed; its identity endomorphism is its zero map. This definition gives an algebra action only. An action on a tensor product requires additional structure, such as a specified coproduct.
Remarks
For a Green-twisted or completed Hall construction, the underlying associative algebra and its coefficient space must first be specified; this definition does not identify different Hall normalizations or completions.
