How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Lie superalgebra over the complex numbers
Definition
A complex Lie superalgebra is a complex vector space with a specified direct-sum grading and a complex-bilinear bracket satisfying the following conditions. A vector in one summand is homogeneous; its parity is defined by . For homogeneous :
- The bracket is graded: .
- It is graded-skew: .
- It satisfies the signed Jacobi identity in derivation form:
- The odd self-Jacobi identity for odd is listed explicitly as part of this convention. Over it follows from condition 3.
Here is a vector space in the sense of Vector space over a field, and the bracket is bilinear in the sense of Linear map between vector spaces over the same field. The ground field is fixed to throughout this pair; no positive-characteristic claim is included.
Remarks
The even part is an ordinary Lie algebra under the restricted bracket. Odd brackets are symmetric, and may be nonzero on the diagonal: if is odd, graded skew symmetry places no condition forcing . The extra odd identity is redundant in characteristic zero; in characteristic three it must be imposed separately for the usual PBW route.
