How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The complexified N=1 super-Poincare bracket data satisfy super-Jacobi
Statement
The bracket data in Complexified four-dimensional N=1 super-Poincare bracket data define a complex Lie superalgebra.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , , , , and the bracket data of Complexified four-dimensional N=1 super-Poincare bracket data.
Classical complex matrix Lie algebras: each factor is a Lie algebra under the matrix commutator.
Complexified four-dimensional N=1 super-Poincare bracket data: is abelian, acts on as displayed, translations act trivially on the odd part, and the only nonzero odd bracket is the symmetric map , .
Lie superalgebra over the complex numbers: the bracket must have the assigned parity, satisfy graded skew symmetry and signed Jacobi, and obey odd self-Jacobi; over the last clause follows from signed Jacobi.
Universal property of the tensor product for balanced maps into abelian groups: every balanced pairing on into an abelian group induces a unique homomorphism from .
Over a commutative ring, is an -module with : for a commutative ring , the tensor product of two -modules is an -module with the scalar action on elementary tensors.
The tensor product from the additive group underlying the free -module on , elementary tensors, and finite tensor sums: every tensor is a finite sum of elementary tensors.
Every field is a commutative ring with ; it is an integral domain, and it is a commutative division ring: the complex field is a commutative ring.
Proof
By [F7], is commutative. For fixed , the pairings and are complex-bilinear and balanced, so [F4] induces additive endomorphisms of . By [F5], ; since and right multiplication by are complex-linear, each induced endomorphism is complex-linear on elementary tensors and hence on all of by [F6]. Thus the displayed tensor action is well-defined and complex-linear, and [F5] gives the complex-vector-space structure on .
The action is a representation by matrix multiplication. For the dual action, , so it is also a representation. On each elementary tensor, the left and right actions commute, and their commutator sends to . By [F6], elementary tensors span , so this proves the displayed -action on all of is a representation. To organize the Jacobi checks, set . From graded skew symmetry, , so is equivalent to the derivation-form Jacobi identity; the same skew relation gives , while cyclic rotation preserves . Thus one representative ordering for each parity pattern suffices.
The even bracket is the semidirect bracket for the representation of on , so its Jacobi identity has -component equal to Jacobi in [F1] and -component equal to the representation identity verified in step 2.1. Thus is a Lie algebra.
The action of on is a representation: its restriction to is the direct sum of the two actions in step 2.1, and the ideal acts by zero, consistently with . Therefore Jacobi holds for triples with two even and one odd entry.
The odd bracket is symmetric and is -equivariant because ; it is -equivariant since both and vanish. This is exactly Jacobi for one even and two odd entries.
For three odd entries, each inner bracket lies in , and ; every nested-bracket term is zero. Hence Jacobi holds for this triple type.
The even bracket is skew because reversing negates both and . Mixed brackets are defined by the even action and graded skew symmetry; the odd bracket is symmetric by its formula. Each bracket lands in the parity-sum component. The earlier even, mixed, and all-odd checks cover every homogeneous Jacobi triple type, so the signed Jacobi identity holds. For any odd , put . Applying that identity to gives , while graded skew symmetry and the even parity of give . Thus , and because has characteristic zero. The separate odd self-Jacobi clause in [F3] therefore holds, so the data satisfy all the Lie-superalgebra axioms.
