How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Meshfree cell quadrature and fill radius

Definition

Let Ω⊆Rd be open. Write B(x,r) for the open Euclidean ball from Open ball, closed ball and sphere in a metric space with distance induced by The Euclidean inner product ⟨x,y⟩=∑k<nxkyk on Rn. A family of cells is locally finite here when every compact subset of Ω meets only finitely many cells. A bounded set is Jordan measurable when its Jordan inner and outer contents agree (Jordan inner and outer content and Jordan measurable bounded sets in Rm). A cell particle rule is a nonempty locally finite family of bounded Jordan-measurable cells Cj⊆Ω whose interiors are disjoint and whose union covers Ω up to their shared boundaries, together with nodes xj∈Cj and positive volumes Vj=∫1Cj. The cell volume integral is Riemann-defined and equals the Jordan content (The Riemann integral of a bounded function over a bounded Jordan measurable set). Its fill radius is h=sup⁡jsup⁡y∈Cj∣y−xj∣, using the Euclidean norm from The Euclidean inner product ⟨x,y⟩=∑k<nxkyk on Rn; require 0<h<∞. Assume finite constants CV,CL>0 satisfy Vj≤CVhd and the local volume bound

∑j:Cj∩B(x,r)≠∅Vj≤CL(r+h)d

for every x∈Rd and r>0. For continuous g:Rd→R with compact support contained in Ω (support as in The support of a function on Rn and its compactly supported Riemann integral), define Qhg=∑jVjg(xj); local finiteness makes this sum finite. For specified parameters R>0 and ε>0, an evaluation point x∈Rd is interior relative to (R,ε) when B(x,Rε+2h)⊂Ω; in a kernel application, R is the chosen support-radius bound for the unscaled kernel. For periodic calculations, use the periodic extensions of the field and particle rule on Rd, so no kernel support is truncated.

The cell rule is integration-compatible: for every continuous g:Rd→R with compact support contained in Ω, only finitely many cells meet supp⁡(g), every cell integral appearing below is Riemann-defined, and ∫Ωg(y) dy=∑j:Cj∩supp⁡(g)≠∅∫Cjg(y) dy. This finite partition identity is part of the quadrature data.

36 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
