How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite ordered channel-location schedules
Definition
Fix a nonzero finite-dimensional ordered tensor register and an integer . A finite channel-location schedule is an ordered list of slots . Slot has an ideal quantum channel and a declared support . A channel is supported on when it has a finite Kraus representation all of whose Kraus operators are supported there in the sense of Support and weight of an operator on a finite register. The order is chronological: slot acts first. Its circuit denotation is the linear map
with the empty schedule denoting the identity map on . The definition records the full-register channels at the slots; gate, preparation, measurement, reset, classical-control, and scheduled-idle operations are included only when their corresponding local channels and supports are supplied. Any ancillary or classical record registers they use are factors of . No unlisted idle slot is implicit. A pattern-dependent replacement at slot must be a quantum channel supported on the same ; the chosen replacement may depend on the full fault pattern, but no extra joint operation across distinct slots is part of this schedule.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A finite-dimensional ordered tensor register, a finite ordered list of full-register quantum channels, and declared supports for their Kraus operators. Verify that the schedule denotation is well-defined and is a quantum channel.
Finite-dimensional quantum channel: A quantum channel is a complex-linear completely positive trace-preserving map on the full operator space.
Finite-dimensional channels compose and tensor: A finite composition of finite-dimensional quantum channels is a quantum channel.
Support and weight of an operator on a finite register: is supported in when its wire permutation has the form for some .
Verification
Each is a complex-linear endomorphism of by [F1] and is assigned its declared local support by [F3], so the displayed finite chronological composition is well-typed; for it is the identity.
For , repeated application of [F2] shows the composition is completely positive and trace-preserving. For , tensoring the identity with any finite reference identity leaves every positive operator positive, and , so the identity is a channel. Thus every schedule has a well-defined channel denotation.

20 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
