How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Vertex algebra in the state–field convention
Definition
A (non-super) vertex algebra over is a complex vector space equipped with a nonzero vector , a linear operator , and a linear state–field map where the codomain denotes all endomorphism-valued coefficient families indexed by . satisfying the following axioms.
-
Field and truncation. For each , there is an integer such that for all . Thus in the lower-bounded support sense of Formal Laurent series , their order, derivative, and residue.
-
Vacuum and creation. , , and This is a formal power series; no analytic convergence is asserted.
-
Translation covariance. For every ,
-
Locality. For every , some integer satisfies
The coefficient is called the th product of the states . The mode and formal-distribution conventions in Formal distributions and fields on a vector space are in force. The axioms are algebraic and do not impose a grading, conformal vector, simplicity, unitarity, or analytic OPE convergence.
Remarks
The creation axiom is the strong form of the vacuum condition: it gives a formal power series in with coefficients in and constant coefficient . Together with translation covariance and , it fixes every coefficient of that vacuum series by the recursion .

6 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
