How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite-support risk-set proportion limits
Statement
For every positive integer sample size , let be IID subject pairs with independent of , and let the event-time support be . Fix and suppose and . Put , , , and . Then , , and the ratio , set to zero when its denominator is zero, converges in probability to .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The right-censoring convention, IID subject pairs, within-subject independence of and , and positive risk probability at .
Under right censoring, and (Event-time observation, censoring, and truncation schemes); the at-risk process is (Nelson–Aalen, Kaplan–Meier, and Greenwood estimators).
IID means a common law and mutual independence across the entire subject family. (Identical distribution and IID families)
Within each subject, and are independent, and .
Proof
Let . By [F1], and . Independence in [A1] therefore gives and .
The two indicators are bounded IID sequences by [F2]. For either sequence, the variance of its sample mean is at most , so Chebyshev's inequality gives convergence in probability to its expectation. Since there are finitely many support points, these convergences hold jointly over .
Since , with probability tending to one . On that event the ratio is the quotient of the two convergent proportions from step 2.1, and its limit is . The zero-denominator event has probability tending to zero by the same risk-proportion convergence, so the stated zero convention does not change the limit.

13 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
