How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A quiver potential trace is additive on exact sequences
Statement
Let be a potential of a finite quiver , and let be represented by a point of the exact-sequence stack. Then
Facts & Assumptions
Given: the block-upper-triangular representation convention of Representation stacks and exact-sequence correspondences of a finite quiver and the cycle-trace definition in Quiver potentials and realized monodromic coefficient data.
Representation stacks and exact-sequence correspondences of a finite quiver: every arrow of an extension representation is block upper triangular, with diagonal blocks the subrepresentation and quotient representations.
Quiver potentials and realized monodromic coefficient data: a potential is a finite linear combination of oriented cycles modulo cyclic rotation, and is the trace of those cycles.
Proof
For a cycle , the product is block upper triangular because products of block-upper-triangular matrices remain block upper triangular. Its two diagonal blocks are respectively the cycle products on and : this follows inductively from for two block-upper-triangular matrices .
The trace of a block-upper-triangular matrix is the sum of the traces of its diagonal blocks. Therefore the trace of this cycle on is the sum of its traces on and .
Write as a finite sum of cycles with coefficients. Applying step 2.1 to each cycle and summing with those coefficients proves the displayed identity.

Dependency tree · two levels
9 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
