How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The bounded cylinder, uniformly elliptic coefficient matrix, bounded drift and zero-order coefficients with , and the regularity and data of in the Statement.
The parabolic operator has the sign convention and its prescribed boundary is initial plus lateral data (Shin's parabolic operator, data, and initial-lateral boundary).
On the final-time face the time derivative is the left derivative; at a final-time maximum it is nonnegative (Parabolic cylinder and parabolic boundary).
Proof
Proof strategy: use a spatial exponential barrier and the weak parabolic maximum principle.
Choose with on . Let , , and choose so that . For , [F1] gives . Choose and put . Then and .
Let , , and . On , , and in ,
Fix any and work on , where the time derivatives at spatial interior points at exist because . Suppose somewhere on this stopped cylinder. Since on , a positive maximum occurs at a spatial interior point and at a time in . For sufficiently small , still has a positive maximum away from . At this maximum, the spatial gradient is zero and the spatial Hessian is negative semidefinite; the time derivative is zero for and nonnegative from the left if . Thus [F2] and imply , while step 2.1 and step 1.1 give . This contradiction shows on every stopped cylinder; let and use continuity at the final face. Hence .
Apply the same argument to , for which and the boundary norm is still . Combining the upper and lower bounds gives the asserted estimate with .

8 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
