How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Simple ribbon fusion dimensions are nonzero
Statement
For every simple object of a complex finite semisimple rigid tensor category with simple unit and pivotal map , its pivotal dimension is nonzero.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The category, pivotal map, and trace convention of Modular ribbon fusion category and Hopf-link data, and a simple object .
Rigidity gives the adjunction isomorphisms and ; the evaluation and coevaluation maps are nonzero by the two duality snakes (Rigid object and rigid monoidal category).
Semisimplicity decomposes each object as a finite direct sum of simples; the unit is simple and (Fusion and multifusion categories).
The pivotal trace is the composite (The categorical trace of a morphism into the double dual).
Proof
Given: The data in the Statement.
By [F1], is one-dimensional, so the simple unit occurs exactly once in the semisimple decomposition of . The coevaluation is nonzero, hence its image is that unique unit summand. The map is nonzero: is an isomorphism and evaluation is nonzero. As a map from a semisimple object to the simple unit, it can be nonzero only on a unit summand; because there is exactly one such summand, its restriction to the coevaluation image is nonzero.
The composite in [F3] is precisely that nonzero restriction followed by the unit inclusion, so it is a nonzero endomorphism of . Since , this endomorphism is the scalar .

Dependency tree · two levels
14 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
