How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Expected real Gaussian power-rangefinder error
Statement
Under the real-field hypotheses of Expected spectral error of the real Gaussian range finder, let be an integer, draw the same Gaussian sketch , and let be the basis returned by Reorthogonalized randomized power subspace iteration on . Equivalently, if , then . Then
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The inherited Countable Choice assumption for the Gaussian law, and a fixed real matrix, the Gaussian range-finder hypotheses, and an integer power count .
The base real Gaussian range finder satisfies the expected spectral-error bound under , , (Expected spectral error of the real Gaussian range finder).
The QR-reorthogonalized procedure spans and its original-matrix error transfers from the powered error (Power-rangefinder error transfer under finite expected powered error).
The power procedure returns a Borel orthogonal projector, including rank-deficient samples (Measurability of the reorthogonalized power range finder).
Proof
Apply [F1] to the fixed matrix , which has the same dimensions as and uses the same Gaussian sketch dimensions. By [F3], its singular values are , including zero singular values.
By [F4], the output projector is measurable, so the transfer hypothesis is satisfied. By [F2], its range is the sample range for . Substitute the resulting bound for into the transfer inequality [F2]. Taking the nonnegative power gives exactly the displayed expression.
