How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Bounded-coefficient magnetic Schrodinger operator
Definition
Assume the Axiom of Choice and the Axiom of Countable Choice (The Axiom of Choice, The Axiom of Countable Choice ()). Fix , and , and work on with the position and momentum operators of Position and momentum operators on Euclidean L2.
Admissible magnetic data. Call the pair admissible when is a triple of real-valued classes having weak first derivatives for all , and is a real-valued bounded class (Weak derivative of a locally integrable function, Integer-order Sobolev spaces and their norms). Write and for chosen representatives; both are bounded classes.
Magnetic momentum operators. For admissible and define the -linear operator where acts as multiplication; this is well defined into because and . The self-adjointness of is proved later on this page, not asserted here.
The operator. Put and This is well defined: if and is admissible, then by Weak product rule for a bounded coefficient with bounded weak derivative together with , so and every summand lies in . Write for the free operator, so that on . The same formula shows is -linear. Its symmetry, self-adjointness, expansion in the magnetic momenta and relative boundedness with respect to are the content of the self-adjointness theorem on this page, not asserted here.
