How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Magnetic quadratic-form data

Definition

Assume Countable Choice and let d≥1 be an integer. Work in H=L2(Rd;C) with ⟨u,v⟩=∫Rduv‾, linear in the first variable, using the quotient and complex-function conventions of the linked Euclidean L2 definitions. Fix real scalars m>0, ℏ>0, and q. Let A=(A1,…,Ad)∈C∞(Rd;Rd) be real and let V∈Lloc1(Rd;R) satisfy V≥−v0 almost everywhere for some finite v0≥0. Put D=Cc∞(Rd;C) and, for u∈D, define ΠjAu=−iℏ ∂ju−qAju(1≤j≤d). For u,v∈D define the sesquilinear form qA,V(u,v)=12m∑j=1d⟨ΠjAu,ΠjAv⟩+∫RdV(x)u(x)v(x)‾ dx, and write qA,V[u]=qA,V(u,u). Each integral is finite: the test functions and their magnetic derivatives are bounded with compact support, and V is integrable on compact sets. The form is Hermitian, densely defined, and bounded below by −v0∥u∥22.

For ε0>0 define its shifted form norm by ∥u∥q,v0,ε02=qA,V[u]+(v0+ε0)∥u∥22. The form is closable when every sequence (un)⊂D with ∥un∥2→0 and ∥un−um∥q,v0,ε0→0 as n,m→∞ also satisfies ∥un∥q,v0,ε0→0. This condition is independent of the choice of ε0>0. When it holds, the closed form closure is the completion of D in this norm, identified with its L2 limits; the corresponding closed form is denoted q‾A,V.
