How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Type-offset quotient vector space

Definition

Let G be a set of formal type labels closed under the formal operations (Γ,Γ′)↦Γ×Γ′ and (t,Γ)↦tΓ for every real t>0. Let F:=R(G) be the vector space of finite-support real functions on G, and let eΓ be the function equal to 1 at Γ and 0 elsewhere.

Form the set of relation vectors

R:={eΓ×Γ′−eΓ−eΓ′:Γ,Γ′∈G}∪{etΓ−teΓ:t>0,Γ∈G}.

Following Linear combination of a finite list, and the span span⁡(S) as the smallest linear subspace containing S, let N consist of exactly the vectors ∑i<nairi for n∈N, scalar lists a:n→R and vector lists r:n→R. The sum is computed in the additive group of F, starting with s0=0 and recursively setting si+1=si+airi for i<n; its value is sn. In particular, the empty list contributes 0∈N. Define the type-offset vector space

VG:=F/N.

The class of c∈F is [c]. The defining relations are [eΓ×Γ′]=[eΓ]+[eΓ′] and [etΓ]=t[eΓ]. The set existence, subspace properties, quotient operations and vector-space laws are proved in Type-offset quotient is a real vector space ↗. These are formal algebraic type labels; no actual catalyst-chain cost or physical existence claim is built into VG.
