How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Extremal cylindrical puncture end
Example
Let in the one-hole Reissner–Nordström (RN) conformal-data family; this equality defines its extremal parameter case. Use the punctured spatial manifold . Then , , and the centered sphere is , with areal radius . On each use the outward unit normal and define the mean-curvature scalar ; a sphere is minimal exactly when . With this convention, no centered coordinate sphere is minimal. The proper radial coordinate
has range and gives
As , and , so this end is asymptotic to the product cylinder with round-sphere radius . The puncture is omitted; no point-source interpretation or global event-horizon claim is part of this example.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: , the isotropic conformal data on , and the formulas in the Statement.
RN conformal data on a punctured exterior: , , and ; the puncture is excluded from the smooth data manifold.
Verification
Substituting into the conformal factor gives , which is positive for every . Therefore and .
The radial line element of is . Since , is a proper radial coordinate; moreover as and as , so its range is .
Replacing by and using gives . As , , so and the spherical coefficient converges to that of the product cylinder of radius .
The unit normal to is . Its mean curvature is for every . Thus no centered coordinate sphere is minimal, while the infinite negative range of proves that the puncture is an infinite-distance cylindrical end.
