How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A longitudinal acoustic mode with constant transverse flow conserves weighted energy
Example
Assume Countable Choice, , and . On the torus with normalized measure , let be the standard basis of and choose . Put Then solves the linear acoustic tangent system , for all , with initial data and . Its weighted energy is constant and equals
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , , real amplitudes , and the normalized torus conventions in the Example.
Global smooth periodic linear acoustics: on the normalized periodic torus the system , has a unique global smooth solution, and is conserved.
Countable Choice: every countable family of nonempty sets has a choice function (The Axiom of Countable Choice ()).
Proof
Differentiate the amplitudes: and . Thus and , while and . Substitution gives both equations of the stated linear system. At , and , so the initial fields are exactly those in the Example.
By [F1], the fields from step 1.1 are the unique global smooth solution with these data, and their weighted energy is the stated norm sum.
Under the stated normalized measure, and . Since , the energy in step 2.1 is . Differentiating the bracket gives . Its value at is , proving the asserted constant.
The explicit fields in step 1.1 have only smooth sine, cosine, and constant factors, so they are smooth for every real time; the formula and energy calculation therefore verify the complete Example.
