How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The Gaussian ground state: position and momentum laws and the saturated bound
The ground state of the one-dimensional oscillator model: its explicit Gaussian representative, its position and momentum outcome laws with means zero and variances l^2/2 and hbar^2/(2l^2), and the saturation of the model's position-momentum relation in the ground preparation. The example is a conditional computation inside the adopted model and asserts no measured distribution, no apparatus realisation and no empirical value.
Example
Adopt the state and composition postulate P1, the observable and probability postulate P2 and the kinematics and massive-particle model postulate P5, read through the one-dimensional oscillator model of The quadratic-potential oscillator model of the framework clauses (a), (b), (c), and assume the Axiom of Countable Choice (The Axiom of Countable Choice ()). Let be the ground eigenvector of the model's energy operator , let , and let , be the model's position and momentum observables. Then:
(a) the class has the representative it is a unit vector, it is the model's coherent state of label , and ;
(b) the position outcome law of the assigned observable in the ground preparation has the density with , mean and second moment ; hence ;
(c) the momentum outcome law of the assigned observable has the density with , mean and second moment ; hence ;
(d) consequently : the ground preparation is one of the coherent preparations of Fluctuations of the oscillator coherent states and the position-momentum relation of the model, and it saturates the model's position-momentum relation;
(e) the computation is one preparation of the adopted model; it identifies no measured distribution with or and no laboratory state with the ground state.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: the model of The quadratic-potential oscillator model of the framework with parameters , length , energy operator , eigenbasis and ground vector ; the operators and with their domains.
The ground vector from the scaling theorem. With and the scaling unitary of Oscillator scaling and exact realization, one has , , , and ; moreover is the coherent state of label (Oscillator scaling and exact realization clauses (a), (b); Hermite recurrence clause (a); The coherent states of the oscillator model clause (c); The energy observable of the oscillator model: spectrum, eigenbasis and outcome law clause (a)).
The position law. is an assigned sharp observable of the model with on and law ; for the real multiplier on the -finite space the assignment is the spectral projection-valued measure of and (The quadratic-potential oscillator model of the framework clause (b); Assigned sharp observables and the outcome law of the framework clause (b); Spectral measure of a real L2 multiplication operator clauses (b), (c)).
Heat kernel and its moments. For and , satisfies , and all first and second moments are absolutely integrable with and (The heat kernel on and its causal extension, Normalisation, parabolic scaling, heat equation and derivative bounds for the heat kernel clause (i), First and second Gaussian heat-kernel moments).
The momentum law. for , and ; with and the multiplication operator on one has with , so by the transport lemma the spectral projection-valued measure of is and, for a unit , ; the multiplication lemma applied to gives and (Componentwise position and momentum operators on the component-valued wave-function space clause (b) at , ; Transport of spectral projection-valued measures along isometric bijections clauses (b), (c); Spectral measure of a real L2 multiplication operator clauses (b), (c)).
Gaussian Fourier transform and linear change of variables. for (Euclidean Gaussian transform with the 2π normalization); and for the diffeomorphism of and , , so (A C^1 diffeomorphism satisfies the change-of-variables formula for L^1 functions).
Means, variances and spreads. For an assigned sharp observable and a unit vector the outcome-law mean and second moment exist and equal and , and the preparation spread is the square root of the outcome-law variance ; for the coherent preparations of the model the identity is known (Mean, second moment and variance of an assigned observable in a preparation clauses (a), (b); Preparation variance and spread of an assigned sharp observable clauses (b), (c); Fluctuations of the oscillator coherent states and the position-momentum relation of the model clause (a)).
Verification
Given: the data of the Example and [F1]-[F6].
[The ground vector] By [F1], with , so its representative is and because is an isometry; and are also from [F1].
[The position law] By [F2] and [F1], for every Borel the position law of the ground preparation is , so is its density, with because is a probability density.
[The momentum law] By [F4] and [F5], for every Borel the momentum law is , using the substitution in the second step; hence the density is .
[The Fourier transform of the ground vector] By [F5] applied with , , so by [F1] and .
[Clause (a)] By step 1.1 the ground vector has the displayed representative, is a unit vector, equals , and satisfies .
[Clause (b)] By step 1.2 the position density is , which equals the heat kernel ; by [F3] it integrates to , and its mean and second moment are those of : and .
[Clause (c)] By steps 1.3 and 1.4, , which equals the heat kernel ; by [F3] it integrates to and has mean and second moment .
[Clause (d)] By steps 2.2 and 2.3 the ground preparation has position variance and momentum variance , so by [F6] its spreads are and with product ; by [F6] this is the value of the coherent preparations, and by Fluctuations of the oscillator coherent states and the position-momentum relation of the model it is the minimum of the spread product over the common domain.
[Clause (e)] The computation used only the model's ground vector, the multiplication and Fourier forms of the model's position and momentum observables and the Gaussian heat-kernel facts; no measured distribution, apparatus or empirical value entered.
