How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
One positive frequency decays in the future imaginary direction
Example
Let be nonzero, let with standard basis , and set , , and . Take . These data give a positive-energy joint spectral input with a translation-invariant cyclic vacuum: the zero mode fixes , while carries one nonzero positive frequency. The continuation is . For every , the component decays by ; the vacuum component remains , so the full operator norm is exactly . Reversing the Fourier sign gives , which grows on in the future imaginary direction and decays there in the past direction. This finite-spectrum example illustrates the Fourier-sign convention; it is not a claim about a physical field or a general Wightman theorem.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: , nonzero , and the positive-energy joint-spectrum conventions of Positive-energy joint spectral input.
Positive-energy joint spectral input: the Minkowski pairing is , the future cone is , bounded Borel functions act by the PVM integral, and the input includes a translation-invariant cyclic unit vector.
Positive spectrum gives bounded future-tube continuation: for , , the continuation is with norm at most one.
has inner product and standard basis ; ; for Borel ; ; and .
Verification
For Borel sets , is diagonal with entries in , , and . For a disjoint sequence, each of the distinct points belongs to at most one set, so the coordinatewise sum of the projections is and is finite on every vector. Thus is a strongly countably additive PVM supported on . The diagonal operators form a unitary representation because and ; continuity is ordinary continuity of the exponential. Put and . Since , these are the two spectral projections and vanishes off their supports. Therefore the bounded Borel multiplier has integral by the finite-support PVM integral formula. Also . For every , the matrix sends to , so is cyclic for .
The cone-restricted multiplier has values at and at ; hence its PVM integral is . For , , since nonzero has . Therefore the eigenvalue has modulus , while the eigenvalue is . The operator norm is , in agreement with [F2].
On the component the reversed-sign continuation is , of modulus for . For , , so its modulus is less than . The vacuum component stays in both continuations. Thus the nonzero frequency's damping direction reverses with the Fourier sign.
