How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Ideal-clock readings for a flat reunion path
Conditional ideal-clock calculation for two specified piecewise-inertial flat worldlines that reunite; it is a model prediction, not an experimental report.
Example
Choose an inertial frame and its inertial chart from Inertial frames and inertial charts of the affine Minkowski model, with coordinates . Use the flat specialization of the prescribed background: with its affine smooth structure, the metric induced by on tangent vectors, and the constant future time-axis field. Thus in . Let seconds and . A lab clock has chart path for . A traveler has chart path on and on . The traveler reverses direction at and reunites with the lab at .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The paths above, , , and the ideal-clock adoption of Ideal clocks on a prescribed Lorentzian background.
On a future timelike path, the adopted ideal-clock reading is (Ideal clocks on a prescribed Lorentzian background).
For a piecewise- future timelike worldline, proper-time increments are defined as the sum of the integrals over its pieces (Timelike worldlines, proper time, length and four-velocity on a Lorentzian four-manifold).
Verification
For the lab, and , so and the clock density is . Its elapsed reading is therefore .
On either traveler leg, and , so . The density is the constant on both legs. Additivity across the single corner follows from the piecewise definition [F2], giving . This is a deduction from the ideal-clock model and specified paths, not a measured result.
