How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Flat shifted chart with negative coordinate Hamiltonian
Conditional flat-metric coordinate example using the adopted normal-observer energy convention and the stated future massive shell; no measurement, empirical inference or curved-background claim.
Example
On , set , , and . The metric is
It is flat under , with time orientation . Explicitly, a nonzero causal vector is future-directed when , so increasing is future. The chart remains temporal with future unit normal . For a massive state with spatial momentum , , the future shell has
but the normal-observer energy . The coordinate speed magnitude exceeds , while the local normal-observer speed remains below .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The flat metric, time orientation and chart coefficients above, , , and a spatial momentum satisfying .
The Axiom of Countable Choice (): Assume countable choice ACω, meaning every sequence of nonempty sets has a choice function; no full Axiom of Choice is assumed.
Temporal chart with lapse, shift and positive slice metric: lapse-shift data define a temporal chart and normal field.
A curved temporal chart gives a local reduced Hamiltonian: future-root chart Hamiltonian is .
Lorentz background, particle quantities and parameter units: normal-observer energy is , defined from the supplied future unit observer.
Verification
Use the inherited smooth bundle structure under [A1] and the temporal-chart data [F1]. The coordinate transformation is invertible with determinant one and pulls back the Minkowski line element to , proving flatness. The lapse is positive and is positive definite, and its unit normal is future by the chosen orientation, so the chart satisfies [F1]; is spacelike since , while is temporal.
Here , so [F2] gives . The inequality implies , hence , so and .
Here , so the shell covector has ; [F3] gives . Put ; gives . Differentiating the Hamiltonian of [F2] gives , and . Thus, for any , , in seconds, is the smooth lifted Hamiltonian trajectory. Its tangent is , with and , so it is future timelike. Define its dimensionless spatial velocity relative to by , and its physical spatial velocity by . Indeed, the observer time increment is , and the projected displacement is . Here , so . Meanwhile . These are respectively the normal-observer speed and the coordinate speed magnitude in this chart.
