How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Straight timelike free particle
Direct flat-space solution of the adopted free massive test-particle equation; the displayed trajectory and conserved quantities are model deductions, not reported observations.
Example
In the affine Minkowski model , let , let be future timelike with , and let . The curve , , is a straight free massive trajectory.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The flat affine model with background metric , and as above. Choose an inertial frame and its inertial chart; at each event of the curve let under the canonical identification .
The free massive equation is and its solutions are affine timelike geodesics (Free massive and null particle geodesics).
The momentum and observer energy are and (Mechanical momentum and observer energy).
An inertial frame supplies an inertial chart and a future unit time-axis vector ; the affine tangent-space identification makes this the same observer along the curve (Inertial frames and inertial charts of the affine Minkowski model, The tangent space of the affine Minkowski model at any event is canonically V).
In the flat relativistic-particle model, the background metric used in the momentum and observer-energy definitions is (Particle spacetime, observers and worldlines).
Verification
Differentiating gives , which is constant in the flat affine connection. It is future timelike by assumption, and , so it solves the free massive equation of [F1]. The mechanical momentum is also constant.
In the inertial chart of [F3], write . Since and , the coordinate velocity is . The norm gives , while future direction gives , so . The observer is fixed under the affine tangent identification; [F2] and [F4] therefore make constant because is constant.
