How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Accumulated pressure-observation error for the smooth MINI branch
Statement
Assume Countable Choice and a smooth MINI observation interface as specified by the interface definition on this page. In particular, is bounded, connected, Lipschitz and polygonal or polyhedral with ; , , and ; the exact no-slip solution has and ; the MINI meshes are shape-regular conforming affine simplices; the initial value is ; and any actual mixed backward Euler MINI solution is used. No mesh/time relation is imposed. Impose the time-step restriction of the smooth-branch pressure-primitive theorem. Set , , , , and , where depends only on the domain, dimension and trilinear-form constant. Let be exactly the explicit viscosity-dependent constant in the smooth MINI velocity-error theorem. Let be the uniform MINI inf-sup lower bound, let , let be a mean-adjusted continuous P1 pressure interpolation constant satisfying for , and choose such that . Let satisfy for . With For every , every , and every node , the interface observations satisfy
These are accumulated-pressure and time-tested pressure bounds on the smooth branch. They do not assert an instantaneous pressure-error rate.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: Countable Choice, the smooth MINI interface and all its exact and discrete solution data, the constants and time-step condition in the Statement, , and .
Countable Choice means that every family of nonempty sets has a choice function with . (The Axiom of Countable Choice ())
Under the smooth-branch, mesh, initialization, forcing, and time-step hypotheses, the imported integrated-pressure theorem gives . (First-order smooth pressure-primitive error for backward Euler MINI)
Under the same hypotheses, the imported theorem gives for every . (First-order smooth pressure-primitive error for backward Euler MINI)
The interface defines , , on , and the two scalar pressure observations by pairing with . (Smooth MINI observation interface)
Proof
By [F3], the endpoint observation is .
By [F2], the time-tested pressure difference has Q norm at most .
The Hilbert-space Cauchy–Schwarz inequality and [F1] give .
Pairing that Q-valued integral with and applying Cauchy–Schwarz yields . Together with steps 1.2 and 2.1 this proves both claims.
