How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Smooth MINI observation interface
Definition
Assume the Axiom of Countable Choice. Let , let be a nonempty bounded connected Lipschitz polygonal or polyhedral open set, let and , and let be a conforming shape-regular affine simplicial mesh of . Let be a finite time partition with , and put and .
Write , , and . Let be the continuous piecewise-affine scalar space on . For each simplex with barycentric coordinates , set on and extend by zero outside . The conforming MINI spaces are and their weak divergence kernel is . Let denote the -orthogonal projection onto this finite-dimensional subspace.
For , set , , and . For , use the real skew convective form Thus and .
A smooth MINI interface consists of a forcing , an exact no-slip velocity-pressure pair , and a mixed backward Euler MINI solution with the following conditions. The exact pair has , , and satisfies for every , , and almost every . The continuous representatives of and are used at the time nodes, and . The discrete initial value is . With , each and satisfies for every , , and .
For a family of bounded real-linear velocity sensors , define the endpoint-sampled exact and discrete observations by Define the accumulated exact and discrete pressures by and , . Let on . For and , define the accumulated-pressure observation and the time-tested pressure observation . The latter is an integrated pressure functional; it is not a pointwise-in-time pressure value. This definition supplies inputs and observables only and asserts no error rate or solver-existence result.
