How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Global weak velocity in the no-slip vessel model
Conditional global weak velocity for a constant-density, positive- viscosity, zero-force incompressible Newtonian model on any fixed bounded open three-dimensional vessel. No pointwise boundary trace, pressure regularity, uniqueness, smoothness, thermal evolution, or empirical universality is claimed.
Statement
Let be any nonempty bounded open set in Cartesian coordinates measured in metres. Define , let be its closure, and let be its closure in , where is the closure of compactly supported smooth fields and has the norm formed from the norms of a field and its first weak derivatives. Let in , in , , and be an initial velocity in . Assume the Axiom of Choice and Countable Choice. Then the adopted unforced no-slip model has
where means continuity of every fixed -pairing and the time-dependent spaces are Bochner spaces of strongly measurable maps, with , strong trace at zero, and, for every compactly time-supported curve ,
It satisfies the initial energy inequality
and a full-measure set such that for every and ,
Here spatial norms and pairings use unnormalized Lebesgue measure, , and . Thus the SI kinetic energy obeys
The no-slip condition is only the stated closure condition; the result supplies no pressure or pointwise wall trace.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: A nonempty bounded open , its closure spaces , constant , , the Axiom of Choice, and Countable Choice.
Bounded no-slip Newtonian vessel model: the vessel is fixed, the body force is zero, the fluid is incompressible with constant positive , and no-slip means membership in the stated closure; no pointwise boundary trace is assumed.
Bounded no-slip solenoidal closure spaces: is the closure and the closure of compactly supported smooth divergence-free fields; the definition does not identify with all divergence-free fields on arbitrary open sets.
Global bounded no-slip Leray–Hopf existence: for bounded open , AC, , and , the supplier gives a global weak velocity with the tested identity, initial trace, and initial/restart energy inequalities.
The Axiom of Choice: every family of nonempty sets has a choice function; the mathematical supplier states AC explicitly.
The Axiom of Countable Choice (): every countable family of nonempty sets has a choice function; the mathematical supplier uses countable basis/diagonal selections in its proof.
Proof
Given: The no-slip model, bounded closure spaces, SI parameters, AC, and Countable Choice in [A1]–[A3] and [F1]–[F2].
For smooth fields, because , and . In the weak form, . Also . For compactly supported smooth solenoidal , integration by parts makes the integral of the cross term ; density of those fields in and continuity of the bilinear forms extend this equality to . Thus the weak stress balance reduces to the identity in [F2] with .
The domain, viscosity, initial velocity, closure spaces, AC, and Countable Choice meet the exact hypotheses of [F2]. Countable Choice [A3] is carried because its proof uses countable selections. Therefore [F2] supplies the weak velocity, initial/restart inequalities, and tested equation.
Multiply the initial energy inequality in [F2] by and use . This gives the displayed physical kinetic-energy inequality; the same multiplication gives its full-measure restart form.
