How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The circularly driven two-level model: exact rotating-frame reduction, Rabi populations, resonance and inversion times
The declared circular two-level drive model with splitting frequency omega0, transverse coupling Omega1 and drive frequency omega: the exact rotating-frame reduction to the constant matrix (hbar/2)(Delta sigma_z + Omega1 sigma_x), the exact level populations of the evolved up-state as Rabi probabilities, the resonance case and the pi-pulse and return times. The statement is exact for the declared finite model; it asserts no damping or relaxation, no measurement record, no laboratory identification of the parameters and no empirical result.
Statement
Adopt the framework data and the declared circular two-level drive model of clause (f) of The declared driven model: prescribed time-dependent energy families, propagator evolution and the two-level drive models: with the orthonormal basis and the Pauli matrices of Finite spin matrices clause (e), real parameters and read as the model's energy family in the bounded norm-continuous class, with its unique unitary propagator (The bounded norm-continuous driven model: unique unitary propagator, Dyson truncation budget and outcome-law error clause (a)). Put , , let be the rotating frame of The two-level rotating frame: conjugation identities, the transformed families and invariance of the level populations and let be the projections onto , with populations of the evolved vector. Assume the Axiom of Countable Choice and the Axiom of Choice (The Axiom of Countable Choice (), The Axiom of Choice). Then (differential assertions apply when , with one-sided endpoint derivatives; on a singleton the propagator identity and population formulas remain valid):
(a) Exact rotating-frame reduction. For every solution of the rotating-frame vector satisfies exactly with the constant matrix ; equivalently
(b) Rabi populations. Let at time . Define for . Then for and ; the populations of the rotating-frame vector are the same numbers.
(c) Resonance and inversion times. At resonance one has ; when , the drive inverts the population fully at the pi-pulse time and returns it to the initial level at , whenever the respective evaluation time belongs to ; for the population obeys whenever both elapsed times lie in . For the populations are constant, and .
(d) Scope. The statements are exact for the declared finite model and its declared parameters; the rotating frame is a change of description of the same model and does not change the populations. The theorem asserts no damping or relaxation, no decoherence, no measurement record, no identification of with laboratory fields or of the two levels with a species, and no empirical value.

Proof
Given: the data of the Statement and [F1]-[F4].
[Exact reduction and propagator identity] The circular family is a continuous bounded self-adjoint family, so its unique unitary propagator exists by [F3] and the model's clause (c)(i) is well posed. By clause (c) of [F1] applied with , the frame transforms the family into the constant matrix , so every solution gives satisfying ; by clause (e) of [F1] the transformed propagator is the propagator of the constant family, and since that family is autonomous with by [F2], its propagator is by [F2] clause (a). Taking gives the displayed identity for . This is clause (a).
[Populations] Let . By clause (e) of [F1] the populations of equal those of , and by step 1.1 , since . This initial phase has modulus one and leaves populations unchanged; by clause (b) of [F2] with , the down-population is for and the up-population is its complement, because and the evolution is unitary. At the family is constant and diagonal, so the populations are constant with ; the formula at , would read with , which is also . This is clause (b).
[Resonance and periodicity] At one has and the formula of clause (b) reads ; for the formula equals one at and zero at , provided the respective time lies in . For general the probability has equal values at and when both belong to by clause (c) of [F2] together with clause (e) of [F1], since enters only through . This is clause (c).
[Scope] The computation used the declared two-level model, the exact frame identity and the exact Rabi theorem; it identified no laboratory system or field, asserted no damping, decoherence or measurement, and made no empirical claim, which is clause (d).
Remarks
- Why this is exact. The circular drive is special: the drive vector rotates in the same sense as the frame, so the transformed family is exactly time-independent and no rotating-wave approximation is needed. The linearly polarized drive of the companion theorem contains a counter-rotating term; the two theorems therefore have genuinely different hypotheses.
- Populations are not records. The numbers are model outcome probabilities of the two-level projections in the evolved preparation, in the reading of P2; no apparatus, pulse protocol or record is asserted.
