How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Exact geometric electrovac normalization
Statement
Let , , , , and be as in SI and geometrized Einstein–Maxwell parameters, with curvature tensors defined by The Riemann curvature operator and the derived Ricci, scalar and Einstein tensors. Let be a constant. Define the quadratic tensor
where indices are raised with . Then the following equations for the same metric and two-form are equivalent:
These are algebraic equivalences between tensor equations. No Maxwell equation, matter model, limiting procedure or physical solution is assumed.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The smooth Lorentzian geometry and positive parameters of SI and geometrized Einstein–Maxwell parameters, a smooth real two-form , and the curvature convention of The Riemann curvature operator and the derived Ricci, scalar and Einstein tensors. The inherited geometric setup carries as in [A1]; this finite tensor calculation uses no further choice.
The geometric normalization has , , , and . (SI and geometrized Einstein–Maxwell parameters)
The curvature convention defines and on the four-dimensional Lorentzian manifold. (The Riemann curvature operator and the derived Ricci, scalar and Einstein tensors)
The only inherited choice assumption is Countable Choice , stated as choosing one element from each set in a countable family of nonempty sets. (The Axiom of Countable Choice ())
Proof
Contracting the displayed definition of gives , because the metric dimension is four. Thus is trace-free.
Each term of contains exactly two factors linear in , so for every scalar , . In particular, .
Since by [F1], the right-hand side equals ; replacing it in the first equation proves equivalence of the first two equations in both directions.
By [F2], tracing the second equation gives , since and the right-hand side is trace-free by step 1.1. Hence .
Substituting into gives , proving the second equation implies the third. Conversely, tracing the third equation and using step 1.1 gives ; substituting this into recovers the second equation.
