How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Exact reaction-then-diffusion Lie step on FV or periodic grids
Definition
Input: Either the no-flux TPFA discretization of No-flux TPFA diffusion generator or the periodic-grid discretization of Periodic rectangular reaction-diffusion grid; a reaction field ; a reaction-inward rectangle such that is on an open neighborhood of and is bounded on some closed neighborhood of ; a state with each cell/node state in ; and a time step .
Procedure:
- At every cell/node , solve the exact reaction IVP from to time , and set .
- For each species , apply the exact diffusion map in the TPFA case or in the periodic-grid case to the vector ; call the output .
- Return .
This order is the reaction-then-diffusion Lie composition. The maps in both substeps are exact flows. The algorithm makes no claim about an approximate ODE or matrix-exponential solver; any such solver error requires a separate bound. Under the hypotheses of Inward reaction fields preserve rectangles and stoichiometric mass and Finite-volume and periodic diffusion preserve intervals and weighted mass, each substep is well-defined for all finite on .

18 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
