How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Central composite designs

Definition

Fix k≥1, coded factor coordinates x∈Rk, an axial distance α>0, and an integer m0≥1. A factorial core F is either the full 2k run set in Two-level full factorial designs and coded effects or the run set of a regular fractional factorial as defined by Regular two-level fractions, signed defining relations, and resolution. In the standard second-order fractional construction the core has resolution V or higher; its generators and resolution are declared with the core.

Let ej be the jth standard coordinate vector. The axial runs are Aα={αej,−αej:1≤j≤k}, and the center runs are m0 copies of 0∈Rk. A central composite design (CCD) is the multiset union D=F⊎Aα⊎{0}(m0).

The definition specifies runs only. It does not imply that a particular fitted polynomial is estimable, that the design is rotatable, or that blocking is orthogonal; those properties require separate checks for the chosen runs and model matrix.

2 results within one dependency step of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
