How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Ideal-gas compressible Navier–Stokes–Fourier model
Definition
Fix an integer , a gas constant , an adiabatic exponent , a constant reference entropy , shear viscosity , bulk viscosity , and heat conductivity . Put . A conservative state is . Its admissible state set is
For , define the velocity , internal-energy density , pressure , temperature , specific entropy , and mathematical entropy . The Euler flux in coordinate direction is

For a differentiable velocity field, write with , and . The Newtonian stress and Fourier viscous flux are
The compressible Navier–Stokes–Fourier balance law is the conservative system
Unless a boundary is specified separately, a periodic solution means that all fields and fluxes are periodic in each spatial coordinate. The positive parameters and the inequalities defining imply and .
