How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Decorated knot cobordisms and the two-color link Floer target
Definition
Let be closed smooth oriented three-manifolds, let be a compact smooth oriented four-manifold with boundary , where has the reversed orientation, and let be images of smooth oriented embeddings of the circle. Every component of is required to meet ; the boundary parametrizations and compatible product collars are part of the data. A decorated knot cobordism from to is a properly embedded smooth oriented surface with boundary , together with one -basepoint and one -basepoint on each end knot and a compact properly embedded one-manifold , which may have arc and closed-circle components. Every component of meets , and every component of meets . The full dividing set decomposes into subsurfaces , with each -basepoint in the closure of , each -basepoint in the closure of , and meeting the boundary transversely away from the marked points. Every component of contains exactly one of the two marked points; in particular each boundary knot meets the dividing set in two points, separating its - and -intervals. The basepoint labels, dividing set, two regions and their two-color assignment are part of the data.
For an end pair , a doubly pointed Heegaard diagram consists of a closed genus- surface oriented as the boundary of the -handlebody, two -tuples of pairwise disjoint simple closed curves giving a Heegaard splitting of , and points off the curves. The curves are complete meridian systems: each bounds pairwise disjoint compressing disks in its handlebody, and cutting along those disks gives one ball. Require , transversely, with the oriented knot meeting negatively at and positively at . The portions of in the two cut handlebodies are specified properly embedded arcs, one in each ball, and are boundary-parallel there: each is isotopic within that ball, relative to its endpoints, into the matching component of or . Their union, with the orientations inherited from , is . Curves from different attaching systems meet transversely in finitely many points. Each intersection point determines a Spin-c structure on from the homology class of the nonvanishing gradient vector field specified by and . For , let be generated over by those intersection points with . A periodic domain is an integral two-chain in the regions of whose boundary is an integral sum of the attaching curves; its capped homology class in is denoted , and is its multiplicity at . Restrict to diagrams strongly admissible for : there is a generator with , and for every nonzero periodic domain with and , some region of has multiplicity strictly greater than . Here is the first Chern class of its determinant line bundle. The symmetric product is the quotient of by permutations of the factors. The associated product tori determine the differential on each Spin-c summand by
Here is the set of homotopy classes of Whitney disks, is the Maslov index, is the moduli space of index-one disks modulo translation for chosen generic almost-complex data, are their local multiplicities at the marked points, and is the finite count modulo two. This is the two-variable specialization of the colored link Floer complex. Its curvature vanishes: for a knot with one - and one -basepoint the curvature formula is in , so . The complex has the two-coordinate filtration induced by the - and -multiplicities.
For a chosen , the Floer map indexed by has the complexes for and as source and target; denotes the set of Spin-c structures on . The following local schematic shows the two regions separated by dividing arcs; it records decoration data and does not represent the cobordism map.

Facts & Assumptions
External curvature input for general closed three-manifolds. For a strongly -admissible Heegaard diagram of a multi-based link in a closed oriented three-manifold, with fixed and alternating basepoints on each component, Zemke's Lemma 2.1 gives the curvature formula for the multipointed differential. Its proof counts the alpha- and beta-boundary-degeneration ends; for a component with exactly one - and one -basepoint the contribution is . Zemke's Lemma 3.4 states the corresponding formula for , and Remark 2.14 states that coloring with only two variables, one for all -basepoints and one for all -basepoints, makes the curvature zero. For the single knot component in this target there is one such pair, so specializing to gives in . The source establishes the curvature identity in its published Heegaard Floer setup; it is imported here, not reconstructed from the local disk supplier. (Zemke, Quasi-stabilization and basepoint moving maps in link Floer homology, §2, Lemma 2.1 and proof; Zemke, Link cobordisms and functoriality in link Floer homology, §3, Lemma 3.4 and §2, Remark 2.14)
Narrower local analytic supplier. Admissible multipointed Heegaard data for knot Floer complexes and Regularity, compactness, and gluing for pointed Heegaard disks are formulated for balanced pointed diagrams of knots in . They do not prove the general- curvature statement in [F1]; their regularity, compactness, and gluing claims remain only at their stated scope.
Scope note
The general- two-color identity is supplied by the external input [F1], under that source's closed-three-manifold, multi-based-link, Spin-c, and Heegaard-diagram hypotheses. No independent local proof of the general- disk analysis is asserted here; the narrower local suppliers in [F2] must not be used as if they covered arbitrary .
