How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Leg notation and quasitriangular Hopf algebras
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A field and a Hopf algebra over .
Hopf algebras and antipodes: is a unital associative -algebra with coproduct and counit satisfying the coalgebra identities.
Scalars, tensor powers, the empty tensor, opposite algebras and finite sums: tensors are algebraic tensor products, every tensor is a finite sum of elementary tensors, and tensor powers have fixed left-associated parenthesization.
The tensor product of -algebras has multiplication : multiplication on tensor-product algebras is componentwise, , with unit .
Associator naturality, pentagon, unit triangle and symmetry hexagons on elementary tensors: the canonical associators and flips are natural isomorphisms; parentheses may be changed through these specified maps.
Definition
Set . Define linear maps For , write and , where . Define . In the second hexagon below, is the canonical reassociation from [F4].
An algebraic quasitriangular structure on is an invertible element such that, for every , and All products are in the componentwise tensor-product algebra, and is a finite algebraic tensor sum. The displayed formula with is the parenthesized form of .
Verification
Given: A field , a Hopf algebra over , and the tensor-product algebra structures of [F3].
For each pair the displayed assignment on elementary tensors is induced by a -bilinear map ; the balanced tensor-product universal property therefore gives a well-defined linear map . The flip is induced by the balanced bilinear map , so it is a well-defined linear map as well.
On elementary tensors, componentwise multiplication gives and the same calculation gives for and for . Each map sends to . Bilinearity and the spanning of elementary tensors extend these identities to all tensors, so each is a unital algebra homomorphism.
The flip satisfies for every elementary tensor and hence . The right-parenthesized coproduct in the second hexagon is transported to the fixed left-associated by the canonical associator [F4]. The flip is an involution of vector spaces, not asserted to be an algebra homomorphism. The formulas in the Definition therefore give well-defined leg tensors and opposite coproduct before any quasitriangular axioms are imposed.

19 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
