How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Relative motivic stack-function groups for quiver representation stacks

Definition

Fix a field k. An Artin k-stack is as in Algebraic stacks and their inertia stacks. In this item, a finite-type stack means an Artin k-stack with a finite-type smooth atlas and finite-type diagonal. It has affine stabilizers when the automorphism group scheme of every geometric point is affine.

For a finite-type Artin stack X with affine stabilizers, define K(X) to be the abelian group generated by isomorphism classes [Y→X] of finite-type Artin stacks Y with affine stabilizers and a 1-morphism to X. Impose the following relations.

  1. If Z↪Y is a closed substack, then [Y→X]=[Z→X]+[Y∖Z→X].
  2. Let S→X be a finite-type stack with affine stabilizers and let d:V0→V1 be a constant-rank morphism of vector bundles on S. The additive vector bundle V0 acts on V1 by translation through d. Write [V1/V0→S→X] for the resulting quotient groupoid stack over X. If ri is the rank of Vi, impose [V1/V0→X]=Lr1−r0[S→X].

Here L is the class of Ak1 in R:=K(Spec⁡k), and we localize R and the modules K(X) by making L invertible. The product in R is induced by product over k. The group K(X) is an R-module. This explicit vector-bundle-stack relation records the class of a family of linear objects modulo its linear changes of splitting.

For a morphism f:X→X′, pullback is f∗[Y→X′]=[Y×X′X→X] and pushforward is f![Z→X]=[Z→X→X′]. Exterior product is [Y→X]⊠[Z→X′]=[Y×kZ→X×kX′]. These operations are well-defined because fiber product and composition preserve isomorphisms, closed-substack decompositions, and the vector-bundle-stack relation. If the rank of a vector-bundle map varies, its base is partitioned into the finitely many locally closed rank strata and the scissor relation is applied on those strata.

The dependency on The Axiom of Choice is inherited from the cited algebraic-stack convention in Algebraic stacks and their inertia stacks, specifically its represented-sheaf descent foundation. No choice is used in the finite-dimensional quiver matrix calculations below.

8 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
