How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Stabilizer subgroup

Definition

For an ordered register of n qubits, a stabilizer subgroup is an abelian subgroup S of the Hermitian n-qubit Pauli operators such that −I∉S. The binary label of a phase-aware Pauli P(k,x,z) is (x,z)∈F22n. Define the rank of S by

rank⁡(S):=dim⁡F2span⁡{(x,z):P(k,x,z)∈S}.

The binary label convention and commutation form are supplied by the cited Pauli items. Stabilizer labels form an isotropic space of the same rank ↗ proves that this label span is isotropic, its dimension is independent of any generating set, and ∣S∣=2rank⁡(S). Matrix multiplication gives the phase-aware Pauli group operation by Pauli product and adjoint. For n=0, the Pauli group is the empty-register convention of Pauli group on the empty register.

35 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
