How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Exact truncated Landweber and a learned finite-depth update
Example
Assume Countable Choice. Let , let for a fixed , and let the exact datum be with and noise bound . Choose a discrepancy factor , , and . The exact Landweber prefix starts at and uses through its finite budget . For a learned finite-depth architecture with zero initialization, identity update blocks, and layer parameters , the updates are . If every , the two depth- outputs coincide; otherwise the learned output is the finite composition determined by its own layer parameters.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: Countable Choice, , , , noise bound , discrepancy factor , , , and the stated scalar exact and learned recurrences.
Landweber iteration with discrepancy and budget statuses: under Countable Choice, the path starts at , uses , and, with supplied discrepancy factor , the finite procedure returns at its first residual test or at budget .
Unrolled regularization architecture: the deployed unrolled map is a finite composition of its declared update maps with fixed layer parameters.
A continuous map has Borel preimages of Borel sets: a continuous map between topological spaces has Borel preimages of Borel sets.
The Axiom of Countable Choice (): the Countable Choice axiom is assumed for the published Landweber interface; the scalar recurrence calculation below makes no additional choice.
Verification
The scalar map , , is nonzero and compact because and the space is finite-dimensional. For every , , so . For every , , hence is also multiplication by . With [A1], implies the supplier's condition . The initialization and scalar update formulas are continuous, hence Borel by [F3], so they satisfy [F2]'s estimator-domain condition. Together with the supplied and noise bound , these verify every input condition of [F1], which gives the exact recurrence and its finite-budget stopping rule for this instance.
Substituting gives . Starting from , induction gives for every , in particular . Hence for every such finite . Since , the discrepancy test fails even at , so no earlier discrepancy stop occurs and the procedure returns this value at budget exhaustion.
For the learned architecture, and its displayed recurrence give . Starting with , repeated substitution yields , or . The fixed-parameter updates are continuous and Borel by [F3], so this is an admissible finite point map. If all layer parameters equal , the formula is the exact Landweber value in step 1.2; for other parameters it is the finite composition specified by [F2].
