How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The normalized Hecke generator requires inverting v plus one
Example
Over , the Jones idempotent generator is defined. The specialization is not a ring map from to , because it sends the inverted element to zero. Moreover, in the specialized two-strand Hecke algebra the element is a nonzero square-zero element, so no scalar multiple of it is an idempotent generator.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The rank-two Hecke quadratic relation and the normalized generator definition.
and are distinct standard-basis elements (The generic type-A Hecke algebra).
The element is defined in the localization where is a unit (The Temperley-Lieb quotient and the Jones specialization).
Verification
A unital map from to specializing to would have to send the unit to an inverse of . No element of is an inverse of zero, so the localization has no such specialization. Thus the formula in [F2] does not define at .
In the specialized Hecke algebra, put . The quadratic relation at gives , hence . The standard basis in [F1] shows because and are linearly independent. If and were idempotent, then would force ; for this contradicts . Therefore a scalar multiple cannot supply a normalized idempotent at this specialization.

Dependency tree · two levels
25 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
