How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The precise shifted L-infinity structure of a complete filtered differential graded Lie algebra
Statement
Let be a cohomologically graded Lie algebra over a characteristic-zero field: its degree-zero bracket is graded skew, satisfies graded Jacobi, and a degree-one map satisfies and . Suppose its degreewise separated complete positive filtration is preserved by and satisfies . With of degree , set
These operations define a complete filtered shifted L∞-algebra. Its degree-zero Maurer–Cartan elements are exactly , where satisfies . Its elementary gauge paths are exactly with , under , .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The differential graded Lie identities and filtration hypotheses in the statement.
Square-zero coderivations are equivalent to the shifted higher Jacobi identities gives the shifted unshuffle identities equivalent to a square-zero coderivation.
Complete filtered L∞-algebra specifies the complete additive filtration conditions.
Completed polynomial gauge paths for filtered Maurer–Cartan elements specifies curvature and polynomial gauge paths in the shifted convention.
Proof
The degree of each displayed operation is one. If , , skewsymmetry gives , so . Hence descends to . The unary shifted identity is .
On the three arity-two terms are , , and . They sum to zero by the differential derivation identity.
Put . The three arity-three unshuffle terms, with their Koszul signs, sum to . Skewsymmetry rewrites the parenthesis as , which is zero by graded Jacobi. In arities at least four every composition contains an operation of arity at least three and vanishes. Thus [F1] gives square zero.
The shifted filtration is complete and separated in each degree because the original one is; preserves it and adds filtration indices. All higher operations vanish. These are exactly [F2]. For , the curvature is by substituting . Thus the asserted Maurer–Cartan equation is equivalent to .
For , by skewsymmetry. Applying this quotientwise to polynomial coefficients translates [F3] exactly to . The degree of is , as required for the path parameter.
