How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Associative algebra representations are unital modules
Statement
Let be a field, a unital associative -algebra, and a -vector space. There is a bijection between unital representations of Representations of unital associative algebras and -bilinear left -module actions , , for which and . The maps are and . Here -bilinear means linear in each variable with respect to the given -vector structures; the module axioms are those of Unital left and right modules over a ring; unqualified module means left module.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A field , a unital associative -algebra , a -vector space , and the representation and action data in the Statement.
Representations of unital associative algebras: a representation is a -linear map preserving the unit and multiplication.
Unital left and right modules over a ring; unqualified module means left module: a unital left module action is additive in both variables, associative, and satisfies .
Vector space over a field: scalar multiplication on each -vector space is compatible with addition and with multiplication in .
The space of linear maps with pointwise addition and scalar multiplication: has pointwise vector-space operations on its -linear maps.
Algebras over a commutative ring, central structure maps, and algebra homomorphisms: the multiplication and unit of a -algebra are compatible with its specified -algebra structure.
Proof
Given a representation , define . For fixed , this is -linear in because ; for fixed , it is -linear in because is -linear, has its specified -vector structure, and evaluation at respects the pointwise vector-space operations of [F4]. Thus the action is -bilinear.
Conversely, given a -bilinear unital left -module action, define . Bilinearity in makes each a -linear endomorphism, and bilinearity in makes -linear.
For the action constructed in step 1.1, multiplicativity and preservation of the identity in [F1] give and . For the map constructed in step 1.2, the unital left-module laws in [F2] give and , which are the representation conditions in [F1].
Starting with , the first construction returns ; starting with an action, the second returns . Equality for every proves that the constructions are inverse and hence give the stated bijection.

19 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
