How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Degenerate Specht decomposition numbers are canonical basis coefficients at one
Statement
Assume inherited AC The Axiom of Choice for the category-O, Fock/global and Schur quotient suppliers invoked below.
Use the actual source chart at parameter : with the monomials and the dual-canonical vectors of The dual-canonical, canonical and quasi-canonical Fock bases, put
Thus is the INVERSE of , not its transpose. Also .
(i) For every Specht label and every simple label one has .
(ii) In the usual Specht-row/simple-column notation the rectangular decomposition matrix is the transpose of restricted to standard rows; it is NOT the transpose of the -in- chart. The full matrix is unitriangular on , and its square submatrix on standard columns is unitriangular; in particular only for , since for the object is not a simple module label.
(iii) Retain the type- polynomial formula: for the right place action, is the shortest sorting element on the RIGHT of the ENTRY stabilizer , is shortest on the LEFT, and
while the COLUMN Levi permutes positions within columns, a different role from the equal-entry stabilizer ; these subgroups can coincide. The mixed singular/parabolic composition matrix is the finite Levi cancellation sum over column-equivalent to , , and equals . All categorification multiplicities are ungraded at parameter one, with the source/library reciprocal convention.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The inherited Axiom of Choice and the tower and its residue functors, the two identifications of The degenerate cyclotomic Hecke is the dual highest weight module and The degenerate Ariki categorification theorem, and the coefficient dictionary of The dual-canonical, canonical and quasi-canonical Fock bases. We prove (i)-(iii).
The classes of simples of a finite-dimensional algebra form a -basis of , with coordinates the composition multiplicities (Simple classes freely generate the Grothendieck group of a length category).
The Schur quotient realizes the identification of The degenerate Ariki categorification theorem: the simple classes are indexed by and the Specht classes satisfy , with the Schur functor exact on the whole relevant category-O summand and with kernel the Serre subcategory generated by off-standard simples.
Proof
The two charts are mutually inverse. By The dual-canonical, canonical and quasi-canonical Fock bases the vectors and are two -bases of the finite weight spaces of the Fock module, so the transition matrices with and with satisfy ; both are triangular with diagonal entries on each weight block, and the quasi-canonical vector is . The polynomial entries and the chart conventions are those of The dual-canonical, canonical and quasi-canonical Fock bases.
The type- polynomial dictionary. The explicit transition coefficients are given by the type- formulas of Parabolic Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials give the dual-canonical transition matrix: for the right place action, is the shortest sorting element on the RIGHT of the entry stabilizer , is shortest on the LEFT, , and the mixed singular/parabolic composition coefficient is the finite Levi cancellation sum . Here permutes positions within columns and permutes equal entries of the sorted tuple, so their roles differ even when the subgroups coincide: for two height-one columns with entries , both are trivial.
The O-side multiplicity dictionary. On the category-O side the standard module has a composition series whose multiplicities with respect to the simples are read off in the same chart: the coefficient of in the expansion of is the multiplicity of in at parameter one, in the source's reciprocal convention, by Parabolic Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials give the dual-canonical transition matrix and The highest weight Fock submodule carries the quantum-group global bases; combined with step 1.1 this gives for all , with unitriangular, and for every in the full square matrix.
Transfer to the Hecke side. By [F2] the Schur quotient is exact, sends to , to for standard and kills the off-standard simples; applying it to a composition series of and using [F1] gives for and every , the sum being finite on each weight block. This proves (i).
Shape of the matrix. The full matrix is unitriangular on by step 1.1; restricting rows to the simple labels (all of which occur, and which index the simples by The degenerate Ariki categorification theorem) leaves a rectangular matrix, whose square submatrix on the standard columns is again unitriangular with diagonal entries . The supported weight blocks and labels agree under the actual arbitrary- cut maps of the theorem, so this same coefficient calculation applies to every admitted consecutive interval. Off standard columns the equation says precisely that is not a simple module label, so the identity is asserted only for . This proves (ii). The statement is not that the rectangular matrix is invertible, and no off-standard simple is created.
The polynomial coefficient is not a transposed inverse. In the coefficient convention used in the proof, the decomposition array has rows the simple labels and columns the Specht labels, and its entries are the coefficients of at ; since , its transpose is , which is in general different from the -in- chart . On the two-factor space with labels one has , so is the negative-entry chart, whereas its inverse has , while the true decomposition entry is : is the simple and not a formal negative combination. Hence with simple rows and Specht columns the decomposition matrix is the standard-row restriction of ; with Specht rows and simple columns it is its transpose. Neither convention uses the transpose of . This completes (iii) together with step 1.2, which keeps the roles of the entry stabilizer and column Levi separate and gives the finite Levi cancellation values at parameter one; all statements are ungraded.
