How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Static SU(2) adjoint-Higgs Prasad–Sommerfield monopole sector
An adopted classical static SU(2) gauge field with one real adjoint Higgs field on flat 3+1-dimensional Minkowski spacetime, in the zero-potential Prasad–Sommerfield sector and with the explicit finite-energy asymptotic reduction and global charge data below. No quantum field theory, particle-state, empirical, or other-global-form claim is made.
Definition
Assume the Axiom of Countable Choice, written . Use natural units on Minkowski spacetime with metric , orientation , and spatial orientation . Fix the global gauge group , not , and the trivial right principal -bundle over each spatial slice. Let
where are the Pauli matrices and has basis . Thus and . The positive coupling is dimensionless. The scalar field is one real adjoint Higgs field: a smooth -valued map on , viewed as the real form in the complexified adjoint representation. A gauge connection is a smooth -valued one-form . In a local section change , use the right-action convention and . Define
The static spacetime fields are the smooth maps , , defined by , , and ; thus . The spacetime connection is , with . This Prasad–Sommerfield sector has no other dynamical fields and identically zero Higgs potential. Its adopted energy functional is
The field dimensions are and , so has dimension . A configuration is finite-energy when this integral is finite.
The boundary data fix of dimension and require in , where has its outward orientation and ; here . In particular uniformly. The stabilizer subgroup of is . Let be the closed northern and southern hemispheres. Specify smooth lifts on open neighborhoods with . On their common equator , oriented as , the transition is , where , runs positively around , and is a specified smooth lift.
For , put and . Define the adapted angular forms
Require pointwise convergence on , with extending as a one-form to . Require its curvature to extend as a two-form to , and uniformly on . Norms and convergence use the round metric of the unit sphere and . Define the limiting tangential covariant derivative by its local expression
where and the bracket is evaluated on tangent vectors. The transition law makes these expressions agree on the equator. Require . Let be the outward round area form on and define by
Curvature covariance makes this definition agree on . Equivalently, uniformly on each hemisphere, since . It is the scaled radial magnetic field, not the unscaled spatial field. Require , meaning that its value belongs to the pointwise stabilizer Lie algebra . These convergence and reduction conditions are adopted boundary hypotheses, not consequences asserted for every finite-energy field. The surface limit below is also required to exist.
The admissible external Wilson probes include the fundamental doublet, on which has weights ; this specifies the electric probe lattice without adding a propagating fundamental matter field. Define the classical magnetic surface charge and its energy normalization by
where is the outward unit normal and is Euclidean area. The transition increment is not assumed to be quantized in this definition. These are adopted classical model data; they assert no empirical law, quantum continuum construction, supersymmetry representation, or quantum BPS state.
