How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A declared-data Rutherford check: , , , the band values and the growth of the truncated total as
Assuming countable choice for the scattering measures and vocabulary, A numerical check of the repulsive-Coulomb model prediction on declared model data in SI units: reduced mass , energy , angular momentum and coupling give , , , scattering angle and density ; the angular band values and the small-angle growth are checked. All numbers are declared model data fed into the model formulas; the example asserts no measurement, no uncertainty budget and no comparison with any experiment.
Example
Assume (The Axiom of Countable Choice ()) for the cited scattering measures and vocabulary.
Declared model data. For a central scattering model of Repulsive Coulomb scattering in the model class: global non-colliding motion, the deflection map , the Rutherford density , finite angular cutoffs and the divergent ideal total declare the repulsive Coulomb coupling and the reduced data all read as model data, not as measured values of any physical pair. Abbreviate and .
Assertions to check. The model quantities of Repulsive Coulomb scattering in the model class: global non-colliding motion, the deflection map , the Rutherford density , finite angular cutoffs and the divergent ideal total take the values the branch density at is , the angular band carries the truncated total with , and as the band value grows like , so no finite ideal total is assigned.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: Countable choice for the scattering measures. The declared model data and the vocabulary of Scattering data of the central model class: the scattering motion, the impact parameter, the asymptotic directions, the deflection conventions and the uniform-incident preparation and The differential and truncated total cross-sections of a deflection branch: densities, units, branch sums and the empirical qualifications of the uniform-incident reading.
Coulomb model predictions (Repulsive Coulomb scattering in the model class: global non-colliding motion, the deflection map , the Rutherford density , finite angular cutoffs and the divergent ideal total clauses 2-4, The Rutherford deflection map, its inverse, the cross-section density and the divergence of the total cross-section clauses 1-3): for the repulsive potential, , , , , , , , and the truncated integral over diverges.
Trigonometric algebra (The principal inverse tangent , Tangent, cotangent, secant, and cosecant on their exact natural domains, Pythagorean and parity identities for all six trigonometric functions on their natural domains, The addition formulas for sine and cosine, The zero sets of sine and cosine and the least positive common period 2 pi, Signs, monotonicity intervals, and ranges of sine and cosine): , the addition and parity formulas hold, , and sine and cosine are positive on . Cotangent is and cosecant is on their nonzero-denominator domains; the principal arctangent inverts tangent on . The special values used below are derived in step 1.2.
Limit tools (The derivatives of sine and cosine are cosine and minus sine, The derivative of at a point that is a limit point of , and differentiability on a set, A function differentiable at is continuous at , Sums, scalar multiples, products and quotients of function limits, the quotient under the hypothesis that the denominator limit is nonzero, Continuity of at a point of and on : the - condition, its agreement with at a limit point, and continuity at an isolated point, Intervals of : the nine order-convex forms, nondegeneracy, and length, Dimensions and SI unit conventions of the non-relativistic classical mechanics framework): sine and cosine are differentiable on , , , and ; differentiability implies continuity. Quotients of functions with finite limits converge to the quotient of those limits when the limiting denominator is nonzero. Here means in the stated limit, with both expressions defined near the endpoint.
Verification
Speed and impact parameter: , so ; then .
Special values: at , the double-angle identity gives ; positivity and the Pythagorean identity yield , hence , and . At , the addition formulas give . Since , and , so . Applying the difference formulas to now gives . Finally continuity and positivity give ; thus as .
Angle: , so and , giving , consistent with .
Band values: using and the endpoint limit , for the band the value is ; for , , so ; for , , so . These are exact expressions in and evaluated to four significant digits; all are finite.
Density at : and , so , with dimension (Dimensions and SI unit conventions of the non-relativistic classical mechanics framework).
Small-angle growth: the derivative definition and [L3] give as , and continuity gives . Since on , quotient limits yield . With , this proves , so in . At rad, and . The positive asymptotic coefficient implies unbounded band values as , agreeing with Repulsive Coulomb scattering in the model class: global non-colliding motion, the deflection map , the Rutherford density , finite angular cutoffs and the divergent ideal total clause 4.
Reading: every number above was obtained by substituting the declared model data into the model formulas; no measurement, uncertainty, detector acceptance or sampling model is supplied, so the computation is a check of the model's arithmetic and not a comparison with nature. In particular the divergence of the truncated total at forward angles is a feature of the declared idealisation, and any empirical statement would require a separate experiment item with measured inputs and uncertainties.
Remarks
-
Why the data are round. The values were chosen so that and exactly, making the check arithmetic rather than numerical; this is a declared convenience of the model computation and carries no empirical meaning.
-
Units. (here ), , ; the displayed values have dimension (Dimensions and SI unit conventions of the non-relativistic classical mechanics framework).
