How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Statement
Let and the periodic cell be as in the kinetic-density definition, and let be continuously differentiable in and measurable in . For each compact and each , assume there are nonnegative functions for , independent of , such that for almost every and every , At every assume , so the moments through absolute order three are finite. In addition, assume for every compact time interval ; this makes the moment densities and fluxes locally integrable in space-time. The velocity integral here is over all of , without a velocity cutoff. Use the collision set with its relative Borel sigma-algebra, and the nonnegative countably additive measure invariant under particle exchange in either pair and incoming/outgoing interchange, together with the operator from the elastic-collision definition. At each assume and , with the measurability and absolute-convergence conditions of that definition. With , , and , assume for each such test that Suppose pointwise that Set , , , , , , , and , using the positive constants and Lebesgue measure from the kinetic-density definition. Define and rowwise for a matrix field . Then on , These are exact unclosed moment identities conditional on the displayed equation and integrability assumptions. They do not determine or from and do not assert existence of a solution.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The regular positive solution of the displayed kinetic equation, the finite absolute third moment, the derivative envelopes, and the admissibility of the collision-invariant tests.
Nonnegative kinetic density and moment domain: , , , , and .
Elastic collision measure and weak collision operator: For every admissible test , ; elastic collisions conserve pair momentum and squared speed.
Differentiation under the integral sign: An integrable common envelope for the parameter derivative permits differentiation under the velocity integral.
Fubini's theorem for L^1 functions on a sigma-finite product: Absolutely integrable functions on the product of the periodic spatial and velocity measure spaces may be integrated in either order.
The function and its derivatives satisfy all regularity, envelope, collision-test, and local weighted assumptions in the Statement.
Proof
On every elastic quadruple, , , and . Multiplication by the constants and preserves these zero brackets. The weak identity [F2] therefore gives , , and at each .
Multiply the kinetic equation in [A1] successively by , , and , and integrate over velocity. For each multiplier , [F3] passes the time derivative of through the velocity integral; for each spatial coordinate , it passes the derivative of the corresponding flux component through that integral using the stated envelope. Step 1.1 removes the collision terms, so the density, momentum, and energy equations have fluxes , , and , respectively. The added weighted hypothesis makes these moment densities and fluxes locally integrable; the derivative envelopes make the differentiated integrands locally integrable, so product Fubini [F4] justifies the distributional balances.
Since by the definition of , expanding gives and . Expanding , the terms linear in integrate to zero, the term contributes , the term contributes , and the term contributes . Since , the energy flux is . Substitution into step 2.1 gives all three asserted balances.
