How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Exact selective confidence set for a parameter functional

Definition

Let E=((Y,G),M,(Qμ)μ∈M) be a statistical experiment (Statistical experiments) and let τ:M→Λ be a parameter functional. For 0≤α≤1, a set-valued procedure C:Y→P(Λ) is a selective confidence set with coverage at least 1−α if, for every μ∈M, its membership section {y:τ(μ)∈C(y)} belongs to G and Qμ{y:τ(μ)∈C(y)}≥1−α. It is exact if equality holds for every μ. Here the laws Qμ are the laws after conditioning on the specified selection event. When M≠∅, the pullback D(y)={μ∈M:τ(μ)∈C(y)} is a confidence-set procedure as in Confidence sets and coverage, with the same membership sections and coverage at each μ. When M=∅, the stated coverage and exactness requirements are vacuous. No measurable structure on M or Λ is imposed.

Dependency tree · two levels

8 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
