How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Polyhedral selective normal pivot

Definition

Assume AC. In the setup of Polyhedral selection event and contrast interval, let Y∼Nn(μ,σ2In), where σ>0 is known (Multivariate normal law, including singular covariance). Put θ=ηTμ, s=σ∥η∥, and let Φ be the standard normal CDF from Standard normal and normal laws. Extend it by Φ(−∞)=0 and Φ(+∞)=1. For a candidate contrast value ϑ∈R, define Δϑ(z)=Φ ⁣(U(z)−ϑs)−Φ ⁣(L(z)−ϑs). When G(z) holds, L(z)<U(z), and Δϑ(z)>0, define qϑ(t,z)=Φ((t−ϑ)/s)−Φ((L(z)−ϑ)/s)Δϑ(z)(L(z)≤t≤U(z)). For a total statistic on Rn, set qϑ(y)=0 when y∉S or when the denominator is zero; on the remaining part of S, set qϑ(y)=qϑ(T(y),Z(y)). The value assigned on zero-normalizer fibers is only a measurable extension; when Pμ(S)>0, the conditional law given selection gives those fibers probability zero.

Dependency tree · two levels

22 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
