How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Regularized kernel prediction system
Definition
Let be a set, a real positive-semidefinite kernel, and a real reproducing-kernel Hilbert space with kernel . Let be a nonempty finite ordered training list in , let , let , and let . Set and define the mean-square empirical objective
For any finite real symmetric positive-semidefinite matrix , define its regularized kernel prediction system by and , where is the identity matrix. The original training system uses . The same definition applies to any positive-semidefinite matrix approximation of , with and . In either case . The scalar fixes the normalization between mean-square loss and the unnormalized finite linear system.

Remarks
The definitions allow to be singular or zero. More generally, for every finite real symmetric positive-semidefinite and , each nonzero satisfies . Thus each shifted matrix in the definition is positive definite and invertible, including when or ; no full-rank assumption is placed on the kernel Gram matrix or on a sketch.

5 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
